The following message from Pope Francis was delivered by Rabbi Abraham Skorka during prayers at the Western Wall in Jerusalem offered by participants in an interfaith gathering for understanding among the religions.

Dear brother,
Knowing that you are going to stay in Jerusalem and will pray the Selichot* in front of the Western Wall, together with your Jewish brothers and those from other religions, I wish to send you my special greetings with a prayer of peace.
To all the members of the Jewish flock I send my best wishes for a New Year full of peace.
Please do not forget to pray for me.
