After inserting a copy of the "Our Father" into the Western Wall in Jerusalem and embracing his friends Rabbi Abraham Skorka and Sheikh Omar Abboud, Pope Francis wrote the following in a visitor's book.
What happiness I felt when I was told we are going to the house of the Lord. Our feet are touching your soil, Jerusalem" [~Ps 122:1]. With this feeling of happiness and gratitude towards my elder brothers I have come to pray and ask the Lord for his grace and the gift of peace. "May swords become plowshares" [~ Is 2:4] .
