Statements on Antisemitic Violence: 2019-2020

ICJS stands with the Jewish community

Institute for Islamic • Christian • Jewish Studies

Today we are learning of yet another violent attack against the Jewish community. We at the ICJS pray for the recovery of those harmed while celebrating the seventh night of Hanukkah at the home of a rabbi in Monsey, New York. This attack is the latest in a string of murders, assaults, and abuses inflicted upon the Jewish community in New York and New Jersey. We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and work to confront anti-semitism, in all its pernicious forms.

Religious bigotry must not be tolerated. All people should be safe to celebrate their religious holidays. In these dark times, the ICJS resolves to hold fast to our mission to educate and illuminate how our religious differences are a force for good.
